Are there many woman out ther who have managed to get through the menopause without resorting to hrt?

my mother at the moment is going through it and she isnt taking HRT, she is on something else i dont recall the name but its an extremly low dose of it anyway, she is doing okay at the moment she just says the hot flushes are the worst, talk to your doctor there probably are alternatives.
