Odd covers that are NOT parodies?

Check out the "Golden Throats" CDs. You get treated to hearing Mae West doing "Light My Fire", "Stand By Me" by Cius Clay (later Muhammad Ali) and Leonard Nimoy singing "Proud Mary". You even get to hear Phyllis Diller's version of "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction". They have to be heard to be believed.
