The best format for a horror/comedy story.?

Digital or done by hand, I and a friend have a few ideas for a spin-off of the Alien movies with elements of Back to the future. What is the best format to project this story, I had the idea of a novel, but it would be hard to capture the imagery of the funny death scenes, and a comic would require too much work. Any other suggestions?
